No sabrán cuánto me alegro.

There are lots of great peoples and thing that I met in Buenos Aires. Ñandutí, a Paraguayan lace must be one of them.

Ñandutí is one of laces from Spain. In Spain they remain this technique as "Tenerife","Soles" or "rueda". It's supposed to be brought by missions during a colonial age.  "Ñandutí" is a word of Guarani, Paraguayan original language.  According to biographic authors of this Paraguayan lace, it means "white spider", or "spider net".

Fortunately I could join a this fantastic traditional technique Ñandutí course organaized by Guarani Pora, which is a distinguished gallery of Paraguayan traditional products in Buenos Aires.

Guarani Pora was an ideal place to learn Ñandutí. Its white walls, a big wooden table, a clear patio full of sunshine, Argentina music Chamame and Brasilian music, mate tea, Argentina accents..... Times went by.

Our admirable teachers are Dina & Antolin who were from Paraguay. All of my classmates are creative and friendly.

During this unforgettable course, I took notes illustrations in my little notebook without knowing that Carolina, the owner of Guarani Pora, and her talented friends were going to publish it as the first craft book of Ñandutí with notes and illustrations.

Tonight, they have a launch party of this "a Kumiko's book of Ñandutí" in Guarani Pora. The most cheerful aspect is that all of my friends join to the party to celebrate the brand-new start of our historical book.

When I received a lovely invitation card drawn by one of Carolina's friend, I was so moved that I could not explain how I felt.
Now I am full of thanks......definitely it is a great gift to my life.

love,  Kumiko
